The Distance Between Us

The distance between us
Seems from Pluto to Venus
And things now just don't seem the same

What exactly happened
We are not sure
Has reality dampened the flame?

We are so far apart -
You're still a friend in my heart
And I would love to keep it that way

Yes I want your dreams
To become realities
If it isn't with me that's okay

The love in my heart
Has changed much in part
To the distance between us I know

But still I yet need
The fire of our friendship
To stay still lit and aglow

I have written these lines
To make sure a smile shines
On your face - I still think of you

So this far and great distance
Will not kill this friendship
The friendship we have is not through

The distance between us
Seems from Pluto to Venus
But our friendship goes on just the same

I pray time is kind
Through God's wonderful design
I thank Him that into my life you came!
